about

A three track set of experimental techno, best listened to in one sitting.

It's been a long time since the last EP I released, but I think the shorter format might work better for me going forward. I've been trying to write punchier, shorter, and more engaging songs, and EP's seem like a great way for me to try out more types of music.

As for this one, it's about speed and rhythm, and about not thinking too hard about it.

I made these tracks late last year, around the same time I fell in with a group of hyperpop producers through a Discord iCarly marathon. I got to watch a few of them work on tracks, and they inspired me in a lot of ways. While I don't think it came through as much in the music, which is still more techno than anything else, it certainly changed how I thought about making music.

Over the years, I've built up some habits that were hard to break, things that I just thought were the "right way" to make music. Watching them work, I had a lot of moments watching them where I thought "Oh, you can just... do that?"

So I did. Mainly, I started turning up the volume, turning up the tempo, and turning up the distortion. I made like fifteen really punchy tracks, most of them under two minutes long. And when I took these three and synced them together, I knew I had something.

From all of this comes my tightest set in years. It's livelier and more up-front than anything I've put out before. Pairs well with a nice chardonnay.

The titles are, as always, mostly because I thought they sounded cool. It's free if you want to give it a listen.
